kaboogame (“kaboogame,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the KaBoo! game, the kaboogame.app website, and related support services. This policy explains what information those services handle, why it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.
KaBoo! is built to be enjoyed without advertising profiles. We do not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the KaBoo! application on supported Apple, Android, and desktop platforms; online lobby and leaderboard features; the website at kaboogame.app; and messages sent to KaBoo! support. App stores and other websites have their own privacy practices.
Information that stays on your device
KaBoo! stores the following information locally so the game can remember your preferences and progress:
- Your chosen player display name.
- Tutorial completion and app settings.
- Games played, wins, streaks, clean snaps, and badges.
- The date needed to calculate a play streak.
- A saved local-game snapshot used by “Continue your table.”
We do not receive this local information merely because it is stored by the app. Your operating-system provider may include app data in a device backup if you enable its backup service. Removing the app or clearing its storage may remove local progress.
Information used for online play
When you open an online feature, an authentication service creates a random service identifier. This is not a user-facing account: KaBoo! does not ask for an email address, phone number, password, social-login profile, or real name.
Depending on the feature you use, we process:
- Anonymous user, player, lobby, and game identifiers, including an invite code used to locate a friend lobby.
- The player display name you choose. Please use a nickname rather than a real full name or other sensitive information.
- Lobby membership, host and ready status, join and creation timestamps, and the current lobby status.
- Game actions, event timing, and a separate redacted game view for each player. Hidden cards and private peeks are not intentionally placed in another player's readable game view.
- If leaderboard publishing is enabled, display name, score, wins, ranking, and a broad region label. Leaderboard entries are server-written; the app does not allow a player to award their own score.
Other players in the same lobby can see your display name, seat, host or ready status, and the game information needed to play. Leaderboard users can see published display names, scores, wins, ranks, and broad region labels. Treat lobby codes as shareable invitations, not as passwords.
Technical and service information
Our cloud service providers process limited technical information needed to authenticate users, provide online game features, secure the service, and prevent abuse. This can include an authentication identifier, IP address, user agent, device and operating-system category, app version, bundle identifier, request timestamps, and service logs.
Our website host may process ordinary request and security logs, such as IP address, browser or device type, requested page, timestamp, and an approximate area derived from an IP address. The website does not currently include an advertising network, behavioral analytics service, or advertising cookies.
Support communications
The support form prepares a message in your own email application. The website does not submit or store what you type into that form. If you choose to send the email, we receive your email address, name, message, and any device, app-version, or attachment details you include. Please do not send passwords, authentication codes, payment information, lobby codes, or unnecessary sensitive data.
Information we do not use
KaBoo! does not currently:
- Run third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Use an advertising identifier to build a marketing profile.
- Include a behavioral analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- Request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location.
- Collect payment-card, health, biometric, or government-identity information.
If a future version changes these practices, we will update this policy and any required app-store disclosures before or when the change becomes effective.
Why we use information
- Operate local progress, online lobbies, games, and leaderboards.
- Authenticate anonymous sessions and enforce access rules.
- Keep each player's private game view separated.
- Protect the service, investigate abuse, and resolve failures.
- Respond to support, accessibility, and privacy requests.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing KaBoo!, compliance with law, or consent where applicable.
When information is shared
We disclose information only as described in this policy:
- Cloud service providers. Service providers support anonymous authentication, online data storage, lobby and game delivery, leaderboards, website hosting, and routine traffic and security logging.
- App-distribution providers. App stores process downloads, purchases, updates, and store diagnostics under their own policies. We do not receive your payment-card details from those stores.
- Other players. We show lobby, gameplay, and leaderboard information as described above when you choose those features.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate fraud or abuse, or defend legal rights.
- Business changes. Information may transfer as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of the service, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
Local information remains on your device until the app clears it, you clear the app's data, or you remove the app. Online lobby, game, authentication, and leaderboard information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to operate and secure the applicable feature, maintain fair results, resolve disputes, comply with law, and maintain limited backups. Support emails are retained while needed to answer the request and maintain an appropriate support or legal record.
Verified online-data deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days. After we initiate deletion, authentication information and residual copies may take up to 180 days to leave live and backup systems, and we may retain deletion-request correspondence for up to 24 months to document completion. We may retain limited information longer when reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. We may also retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies a user.
Your choices and privacy rights
- You can use local play without opening online social features.
- You can use a nickname instead of your real name.
- You can remove local information by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it, subject to any device backup you control.
- You can use Settings → Privacy & data in the app to erase local progress and obtain the code needed to request deletion of online data.
- You may ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of online information associated with you.
- Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision.
Follow the steps on our data deletion page or email support@kaboogame.com with the subject “Privacy request.” Because online play uses a random identifier, we may ask for the Data request code available in the app to locate the correct records and protect another player's data. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. You may also contact the data-protection authority where you live when that right is available.
Children
KaBoo! is a general-audience, family-friendly card game; it is not directed specifically to children under 13. Children below the age at which they may consent to online data processing in their location should use online and social features only with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision. Children should use a nickname and should not submit a real full name or contact details.
If you believe a child provided personal information without the consent required by law, contact support@kaboogame.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use safeguards designed for the information and features we provide, including encrypted network connections, access-control rules, anonymous authentication, per-player redacted game views, and restricted leaderboard writes. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep lobby codes within the group you intend to invite and contact us if you believe information has been exposed.
International processing
kaboogame and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws from your own. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when KaBoo! changes or when legal or operational requirements change. We will update the date above and, when required, provide additional notice in the app, on the website, or through another appropriate channel.
